Elephant dung paper

An adult elephant consumes more than 130Kg of food in a single day. Because the meal is largely grass, twigs, leaf, and tree bark, it is high in fiber. They may defecate 16 to 18 times in the same timeframe, generating over 90Kg of dung. This dung gets a second chance as paper.

Most paper is made from wood pulp, which has been chemically and physically separated from the wood. But the elephant dung paper only has to be dried in the sun and boiled to ensure it is germ-free. As a result, elephant dung paper is environmentally beneficial.
