- West Coast
Negombo
Negombo Beach is only 10 kilometers from CMB Airport and is known for birdwatching, skiing, kayaking, fun boat rides and other watersports.
Kalpitiya
Kalpitiya is a 14-island peninsula on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Kalpitiya is popular for whale watching, kitesurfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving as well.

Bentota
This lovely and lengthy stretch of beach is great for both relaxing and family vacations. Bentota is the greatest location for a variety of watersports in Sri Lanka.
Unawatuna
The golden sandy beach with blue dazzling water is flanked by fringed palm trees. Unawatuna is an excellent place to swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and learn to surf as well.
April to September
- East coast
Pasikuddah
It is a paradise beach with silky white sand and transparent water that are unspoiled and uncrowded. The beach is perfect for snorkeling, diving, sailing, and a variety of other water activities.
Nilaveli
Nilaveli is one of the more pristine beaches, a stretch of white sand and azure waters and the beach is still mostly deserted. Nilaveli coast with great biodiversity is an ideal spot for surfing, diving, and snorkeling.
Inland
Negombo Lagoon
Negombo beach is only 10 kilometers from the CMB airport. Aside from the beach, the lagoon is known for its jet skiing, boating, and large mangrove forest.
Gregory Lake
In the midst of the tea country hill city of Nuwara Eliya, this is a popular spot for water sports and recreational activities.
Bolgoda Lake
Bolgoda Lake, one of Sri Lanka’s largest natural freshwater lakes, is famous among residents and is located 19 kilometers from the city center of Colombo.
