Kalkudah/Pasikudah
Pasikudah Beach is just next to Kalkudah Beach. They are amazing paradise beaches with silky white sand and transparent water that are unspoiled and uncrowded. The ocean is warm and the water clarity is excellent between May and September, making it perfect for snorkeling, diving, sailing, and a variety of other water activities. Swimming may be done at any time of year.
The shallow fringing coral reef in Pasikudah bay, towards the outer bay, is ideal for snorkeling.

- Batticaloa Lighthouse
The British built the Batticaloa Lighthouse in 1913. The lighthouse is 28 meters tall and includes a series of stairways that allow visitors to climb to the very top, where they can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
The area is ideal for unwinding day trips while admiring the beautiful views of the lagoon and the ocean.

- Batticaloa Dutch Fort
The fortress was originally built by the Portuguese in 1628.
The Batticaloa Fort thereafter passed into the hands of the Dutch in 1638 and the British in 1745. It was developed by the Dutch into a four-bastion fortress.
During the British colonial era, it served as an important administrative complex, and it currently contains numerous government buildings.
