Pilgrimage track (UNESCO Tentative site)

The historic pilgrim path (275 km long) begins in Seruwila and finishes in Sri Pada (UNESCO World Heritage site of Adam’s Peak) along Sri Lanka’s longest river, the Mahaweli. This path links various historical monuments, including Seruwila Historical Temple, Somawathie Historical Temple, Polonnaruwa Ancient City UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mahiyangana Historical Temple, Kandy City UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gampola, and Sri Pada UNESCO World Heritage Site. The pilgrims walked along the trail, stopping to worship at historical sites along the way.
