For many decades, visitors from all over the world have come to experience Sri Lanka’s rich culture and legacy. Traditional wedding ceremonies are also included. Women wear gold or white sarees at traditional weddings, while males wear traditional costume with turbans known as the Kandyan costume. The event is held on a “Poruwa,” which is a magnificently adorned traditional hardwood platform.
