Wadduwa/Kalutara
Wadduwa Beach is around 33 kilometers from Colombo City’s main city. The golden sandy beach is clean and the water is calm since it is sheltered by coral reefs. The palm-fringed golden sandy beach is located away from the busier beaches farther south. Hence, it is a renowned spot for tranquil holidays among both domestic and international visitors.
Kalutara Beach, which is next to Wadduwa Beach, is also well-known for its medieval temple. The south end of Kalutara Beach is known as Calido Beach, which is part of the estuary and is the locals’ favorite beach in Kalutara.
Both Wadduwa and Kalutara Beaches have a usually tranquil ambiance, with little or no nightlife to speak of, making them the ideal spot for unwinding.
There are several family-owned stores providing beach necessities, souvenirs, and clothing.
